Alex Palou shone on his World Series Formula V8 debut with Teo Martín Motorsport at Nürburgring last weekend. Palou took shock pole position on Saturday nearly 0.7 seconds quicker than Pietro Fittipaldi. Despite the Spaniard couldn’t convert his pole into victory in race one, he won the pole again for Sunday’s race. In difficult wet conditions, Palou took the Teo Martín Motorsport car to the finish line in first place securing a commanding maiden win.
Palou contested the Euroformula Open with Campos Racing in 2014. Palou, who was making his single-seater debut by then, achieved 3 wins, 11 podiums, 3 pole positions and 4 fastest laps. He finished third in the Drivers’ standings.
